It was after the summer
And you were all in the midst of things
          When Al turned scribbles into meeting notes
 When for the first time, everyone was present at the same moment
         And Jas said they could make a simple website
We worked through decisions quickly
You and I would meet on a Google chart
          When Violeta taught herself sketchup
 And we found out we couldn’t hang things
When open-endedness didn’t stress me
         When Alec mixed your audial textures
And you respected the decisions made in your absence
How I enjoyed the lightness of a collective process
         Will kept checking in
You spoke on things you weren’t willing to do
And brought things back to working conditions
         When Tom asked me on your behalf to guide you
I didn’t know,
When I could say
I now know us a little more
         I turn and feel
         Things have become props, anchors, and punctuations
Your care endures.
         The sounds of chimes move up my spine
         The soundtracks bring me back to puberty
         Like two kids in a home repair store
